What makes the whole process hassle-free is that you don’t have to pay a visit to any office to fulfill this requirement. There is a site dedicated to this purpose that was set up by the Spanish government.

Through this site, you can update several government agencies at a go. These agencies include the Tax Agency, the General Directorate of Traffic, the General Directorate of the Police, the Social Security office and the General Treasury of Social Security.

However, you need to first update the local town hall to ensure that you get added to the padron. Once you get this done, follow this link. The only downside is that the website’s content is written in Spanish.

However, this should not set you back. You could always fire up Google Translate and have it translate the content of the pages into Spanish. Additionally, you can have a Spanish speaking friend assist you go through the site.

Once you’re done with filling the information, you need not be left in the dark over the process. If you applied electronically, the main page contains a section when you can keep track of the progress.

Another requirement to updating your address is that you need a cl@ve Pin also known as a cl@ve Permanente digital identity certificate. This helps you in authenticating yourself electronically. It is also a requirement online when electronically performing numerous administration tasks.

Another drawback to the system is that it has a 2 month process time from when you change your data on the padron. Accessing the before time will only show you the data has not been updated.
